La Clusaz is a genuine Haute-Savoie village at 1,100 m in the Aravis range, close enough to Annecy and Geneva to be a favourite of people who ski often rather than once a year.
The skiing spreads across five massifs with a strong reputation for off-piste and for its Reblochon-country character — the village has a working centre, a church and a Monday market, not just a lift station. It is one of the quickest transfers from Geneva of any real ski resort, which Winteride does in about an hour.
