Megève was created in the 1920s by the Rothschild family as a French answer to St Moritz, and it still feels that way: a cobbled medieval centre, horse-drawn carriages, and some of the best restaurants in the Alps.
It sits at 1,113 m and is the centrepiece of Evasion Mont-Blanc, around 445 km of linked piste with Saint-Gervais, Combloux and Les Contamines, all of it in full view of Mont Blanc.
